Many people have asked us, why did you move to
Sheboygan, Wisconsin? If you have to come here for court or an office appointment, plan on allowing for some extra time
to walk on the beach, eat at our amazing restaurants, or visit the free Kohler Art Center while you're here. You'll
see why this is a great place to visit and call home.
The Sheboygan River
widens and meets the lake at the Sheboygan Harbor. This picturesque waterfront boardwalk is home to sport
fishing charter boats, the Weather Center- a great cafe with the best sandwiches in town, the Duke of Devon- a traditional English pub with authentic food and imported beers, specialty shops and more restaurants.
My office is just across the street on Riverfront Drive. The Sheboygan
waterfront is also home to one of the nicest marinas on the Lake Michigan shoreline, the Sheboygan Yacht Club, the new US
Sailing Center, and beautiful beaches with picnic facilities and parks.
Across
the river is Blue Harbor, a Dells-quality hotel and water park.
2009 DAIRYLAND SURF CLASSIC
In the early spring or fall, you may see something
you never thought possible- surfers catching waves off the Sheboygan pier! Yes, you can surf Lake Michigan.
Sheboygan is the home of the annual Dairyland Surf Classic, a Labor Day weekend festival of beach activities, picnics, and live music. The surfing season extends well into the
winter when the conditions are perfect for big waves- avid local surfers brave minus zero temps in heavy duty wetsuits.
The City of Sheboygan has a traditional Wisconsin
Main Street (it's actually called 8th Street), with a restored theater for the performing arts, the Stephanie Weill Center. It is also home to some of the best restaurants you will find anywhere in the country-
Trattoria Stefano, Il Ritrovo, Field to Fork, and Margaux. Il Ritrovo (Italian wood fired pizza) and Field to Fork (organic
locally grown fare) offer lunch menus. Legend Larry's has the BEST chicken wings in the world (we know- we're
from Buffalo!).
Nearby is the Village of Kohler,
home to the American Club as well as spas, shops and more great restaurants. You can tour the Kohler factory and design
center. The homes and gardens in the Sheboygan area are beautiful. We have several outstanding garden centers
offering unusual plants if you are looking for something out of the ordinary- Otter Creek, Restoration Gardens, Kohler Gardener,
and Superior Lawn and Garden are worth visiting if you enjoy gardening.
